This roast chicken recipe ensures juicy meat and crispy skin, making it perfect for festive occasions or a delicious dinner. Give it a try!

Ingredients:

1 tsp

Pepper
1 tbsp
Paprika powder
2 tbsp
Sunflower oil
1.3 kg

Steps:

1. Take the frozen chicken out of the freezer the day before and let it thaw in the refrigerator overnight. Cut or remove the packaging.
2. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top and bottom heat).
3. Wash the chicken inside and out, then pat it dry with kitchen paper.
4. Season the chicken inside and out with salt and pepper and place it breast-side up in a suitable roasting pan. Tip: Clean your hands and all surfaces with hot water and soap afterward.
5. Mix paprika with the oil and brush the skin with it using a brush.
6. Pour in 100 ml of water, place the chicken in the oven, and roast for about 1.5 hours. Baste it with the roasting juices after 30 and 60 minutes. Tip: If available, activate the grill function in the last minutes to make the skin particularly crispy.
7. Take the finished roast chicken out of the oven and cut it into pieces with a sharp knife. Tip: A poultry shears makes the process easier.
8. Serving suggestion: You can stretch the delicious roasting juices in a pot with some water. Add starch dissolved in water and cook the sauce until it thickens. Serve with fries and a mixed salad.
