Chilli Crab is a famous Singaporean seafood dish where mud crabs are stir-fried in a semi-thick, sweet and savory tomato and chili-based sauce.
Steps:
1. Clean and prepare 4 mud crabs by removing the top shell, gills, and guts. Cut each crab into quarters.
2. In a large wok, heat 4 tablespoons of vegetable oil and sauté 5 chopped garlic cloves and 1 sliced ginger until fragrant.
3. Add 2 teaspoons of chilli paste, 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce. Bring to a simmer.
4. Add the crab pieces to the wok and cook for 8-10 minutes until the crab shells turn red and the meat is cooked through.
5. Serve the chilli crab hot with steamed rice and enjoy!
