Cannoli are traditional Italian pastries originating from Sicily. They consist of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta.
Ingredients:
1 tsp
Salt
250 g
Ricotta cheese
30 g
Butter
50 g
Sugar
15 g
Cocoa powder
250 g
All-purpose flour
1 piece
Egg
1 tsp
Cinnamon
2 tsp
Marsala wine
Steps:
1. In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, cocoa, cinnamon, and salt. Add the butter and egg, then the Marsala wine. Knead until the dough is smooth. Wrap in plastic and let rest for 1 hour.
2. Roll out the dough and cut into circles. Wrap circles around cannoli tubes and seal with egg white. Fry until golden brown, and let cool. Fill with sweetened ricotta cheese.
