Pavlova is a popular dessert originating from New Zealand and Australia. It is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova.
Steps:
1. Preheat the oven to 150°C (300°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add in the sugar and continue beating until the mixture is glossy.
3. Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and shape it into a round disc with slightly raised edges.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and let the pavlova cool completely inside the oven.
5. Once cooled, top the pavlova with whipped cream and fresh fruits of your choice before serving.
